The Centre for Development and Technological Innovation (CEDIT) of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT), located in the Parque Tecnológico de Fuente Alamo, already one hundred percent occupancy.

Since officially opened last February by the Minister for Universities and Research Company, José Ballesta, the building has been adding technology-based companies linked to projects and research groups to complete the area of ​​the building, which occupies a area of ​​3,000 square meters.

The first companies to set up, linked to research groups UPCT were Radiatio Engineering Issues, Frumecar SL, EXPAL, DSIE-WSN and Cloud incubator, who have been joined by various research groups.

The director of the Institute of Development, Juan Hernandez, said that "applying the knowledge generated from research is the best way to add value to the scientific community and to strengthen the competitiveness of companies in the region."

The CEDIT is a modern three-storey building dedicated to research.

There are different spaces and laboratories for researchers, entrepreneurs, small and medium businesses and large corporations.

In particular, heavy houses five laboratories, twenty laboratories of R & D + i, computer server rooms, offices, meeting rooms and an auditorium.

The building is equipped with all necessary services for the installation and operation of technology projects such as voice and data network, stabilized current, water production, refrigeration equipment, a powerful crane, laboratories, computer server, including other.

With this initiative, the regional government, in collaboration with the Polytechnic University of Cartagena, continues in its efforts to promote the value chain of research, development and innovation as a strategy for strengthening the business sector.

"We have to exploit the synergies that arise between universities, researchers and businesses and make the Murcia Region a magnet for excellence in education, scientific and productive," said Hernandez.

The regional government funded with 1.3 million, managed by the UPCT, construction and provision of equipment to these laboratories, which have also received funding support from the Ministry of Science and Innovation.
