IES Ricardo Ortega de Fuente Ãlamo students receive training on gender equality through the 'Classrooms without machismo' program (16/01/2020)

The IES Ricardo Ortega de Fuente Álamo has received the visit of María José García Méndez, general director of women and gender diversity, to learn about the progress of the 'Classrooms without machismo' program.

Neither stories with partridges nor pink novels' that the association of Young Women of the Region of Murcia (Mujomur) is teaching in the educational center.

García Méndez has attended accompanied by Lidia Moreno, councilor for social policy, equality, health, consumption, employment and training of the City of Fuente Álamo;

and José Antonio Oliver, first deputy mayor and councilor for finance and heritage, hiring, companies, infrastructure, education and culture of the City of Fuente Álamo.

The program 'Classrooms without machismo.

Neither stories with partridges nor pink novels', subsidized by the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, arises with the objective of preventing sexist violence and promoting equal relations between young people, prioritizing training in decision making and skills management social.

The program consists of several interventions with secondary school students from an integral, pedagogical, dynamic and attractive vision, attending to their current stage of personal and social development.

The competences of this project are based on the recommendations on education, prevention and equality of Organic Law 3/2007, of March 22, for the effective equality of women and men, Organic Law 1/2004, of 28 December, of Comprehensive Protection Measures against Gender Violence and Organic Law 2/2010, of March 3, on sexual and reproductive health.

In addition, the objectives of the different sessions are related transversally with area subjects (Biology, History or Ethics), with the characteristics of the center established in the Center Educational Project (PEC) and with the powers of the educational law, especially social competences and civic, awareness skills and cultural expressions and competence in learning to learn.

Goals:

Facilitate knowledge of the phenomenon of sexist violence, understanding its nature, causes, types and consequences.

Encourage the construction of a non-sexist identity, overcoming cognitive, affective and behavioral models based on submission, violence and affective dependence.

Raise awareness about those macho actions that put at risk the safety and integrity of minors in the context of new technologies: sextorsionygrooming.

Know how the roles associated with women and men vary depending on culture, society and different historical moments.

Encourage the critical analysis of students against the contradictory messages sent to them by advertising, social networks and the media in matters of gender.

Promote a responsible and conscious attitude towards sexuality.

Publicize the value of co-responsibility, links and the affective component in relationships.

Learn emotional intelligence skills and abilities to face situations of tension and conflict in the couple.

Strengthen assertive communication style, respect for diversity, gender equality, personal autonomy, the value of cooperation and group dialogue, the ability to defend and express different points of view, the capacity for critical thinking and Become aware of our rights.
