The general director of Sports, Antonio Peñalver, today, along with the Mayor of Fuente Alamo, María Antonia Conesa, the Triathlon XXI Fuente Alamo, to be held in this town on 1 May, which has 700 registered athletes .
For the first time in the history of triathlon, involving a total of 110 female athletes.

Peñalver said that "the twenty-first edition of any event is already a story in itself, and more in the case of Alamo Source triathlon has become a sort of test of worship for all who practice this sport, and perhaps the ship logo for many years in the region that is expanding rapidly and disclosure of what are the values and possibilities of the Community concerning the practice of this sport. "
Fuente Alamo City Council held since the summer of 1990 this triathlon, which makes it the first test carried out across the Iberian Peninsula.
It is considered also by the Spanish Triathlon Federation, as Sprint Triathlon, the national character.
The competition will take place on Saturday at 17:00 hours from the beach The Rihuete (Mazarrón) and end on the Gran Via de Fuente Alamo, where they will be delivering trophies.
The distance to be covered in this test is 750 meters in the segment of swimming, 24 km, the cycling and walking five miles.
Participants were provided with accommodation, food, breakfast and dinner as well as necessary medical services and the ability to make use of sports facilities in the municipality.
The test was recognized in 1998 with the award 'Best organizer' in the National Triathlon Gala.
