Enlargement of the Centre for Child Care of Fuente Alamo will serve 107 children under three years (22/10/2009)

The Minister of Social Policy, Women and Migration, Joaquín Bascuñana, today laid the first stone for the expansion of the Center for Child Care (IAC) of Fuente Alamo, with capacity to serve 107 children aged between four and 36 months.

The expansion of facilities, located in Calle Leon, representing an investment of 720,644 euros, for the construction of two new classrooms for children up to 24 months and two for children between 24 and 36 months.

A total of 67 new seats, in addition to 41 existing and provide a resource for reconciling family and professional life of the parents.

The Region of Murcia has 110 Centres and Points of Care for Children with 8,218 seats supported by the Ministry of Social Policy, Women and immigration.

Bascuñana expressed satisfaction with this project that "seeks to serve the women of the region's resources to the care and attention to their children, so they can join the working life", to which he added that "We remain committed to real reconciliation in the lives of women, and the proof is the extensive network of existing CAI and PAI "

Moreover, the owner of Social Policy, accompanied by the Mayor of Fuente Alamo, María Antonia Conesa, and the directors of Family and Children, Laura Muñoz, and the Institute for Women, Teresa Moreno, opened the Call Center Women Victims of Domestic Violence (CAVI) in this town, in addition to the regional network, consisting of a dozen centers.

The CAVI of Fuente Alamo is located on Calle Pedro Guerrero, within the municipal social service units, and it provides its services a psychologist, a social worker and a lawyer, who provide care and counseling to abused women.

Finally, the counselor said the regional government's effort to have a wide network of resources to combat gender violence and added that "so far this year more than 1,900 women have attended for the first time to the CAVI Autonomous Community of Murcia and in total have been carried out 11,947 care, mostly psychological. "
