The City of Fuente Alamo and Ecovidrio again undertake a campaign focused on environmental awareness, this time, in the recycling of glass containers.
To this end, next Saturday, May 31, residents attending the weekly market will receive reusable bags to store glass waste generated at home and then be deposited in the different green bins installed on public roads.
Environmental educators will even offer information on the importance of recycling this type of packaging and guidelines to do it correctly.
In parallel, the same day, people depositing bottles and glass containers in the igloo to be installed within the market itself will receive a prize as a reward for their effort and commitment to the environment.
With this campaign, the Department of Public Services Cleaning Equipment and Solid Waste aims to increase levels of recycling in the city.
Last year 2013, Fuente Álamo managed to recycle a total of 208,370 kg of glass, which means that each neighbor recycled an average of 12.5 kg of this material.
In addition, the city currently has installed 89 containers for the collection of such waste.
The City of Fuente Alamo and Ecovidrio remember that this gesture as simple reduce energy consumption, save raw materials and diminish landfill and air pollution.
