Today, Monday, October 1, has started operating the bus that the Department of Infrastructure and Transport Fuente Alamo City Council has chartered for all students in the city who have to travel to the universities of La Merced, and Ucam Espinardo.
The initiative to introduce this service comes to the proposal of the local families to reduce the high costs involved in maintaining their children's college education, especially in regard to rental housing and displacement.
In response, Councillor for Transport, Fulgencio Lopez, met with stakeholders to see first hand the needs of each and try to reconcile the different attendance schedules.
Finally, the proposal was feasible and this morning, thirty students have made use of public transport from the bus stop located at the Institute and from Ricardo Ortega Round Cubes in Fuente Alamo at the following times: 7.00, 7.10; 13.00 and 13.10.
The return from the university campus will take place at 15.00 and 21.00.
The Department of Infrastructure and Transport College encourages all who have not yet applied for a place to make use of this bus who register on the first floor of City Hall.
The cost for users will be only 100 euros a month.
