The government team approved in plenary session, changing the refuse collection contract in order to reduce total costs and reorganize efficiently, the service, currently provided to residents of Fuente Alamo.

One amendment has been raised the new schedule of garbage collection covering from 6 to 9 am (daytime), eliminating the payment of bonus for night and reorganizing the work of the operators.

Thus, after garbage collection, the workers responsible for this service will continue their working day to the 1 pm meeting with the tasks of washing containers, collection of furniture, etc ... Something that was not the case with the signing of the former contract because the operators did their work at night, ended their working day after garbage collection.

With this measure, the total contract amount was reduced by EUR 1,192,587.84, resulting in savings for the city of about 450,000 euros a year.

This reduction is intended to apply without diminishing the quality of service as it will monitor and follow up on it for it to successfully provide the citizens of the municipality.

Moreover, the municipality of Fuente Alamo has also approved the revision of the waste disposal fees that were not updated since 2003.

In calculating this increase is taken into account the rise in CPI during the period 2003 - 2012 (30%), so that the final amount of the fee has increased by 35%.

Thus, a home will pay 86 euros to 116 euros per year annual fee, which equates to a rise of 2.50 euros per month per household.

The rates of water and sanitation by 2012 have also been taken to the plenary for approval.

The upgrade involves an increase of 27%, of which 3% is the CPI for 2012 and the remaining 24% of the entry into force of the new management contract for water and sanitation to be effective beginning in April 2012.

The average increase is 10 euros per month per household, with reference to an average consumption of a house in the town of 30 cubic meters per quarter.
