Companies in the Technology Park of Fuente Alamo closed 2011 with a notable increase in employment and turnover (26/02/2012)

The Minister of Universities, Business and Research emphasizes "the firm commitment in R + D + i" firms in this infrastructure

The Technology Park of Fuente Alamo, an initiative of the Autonomous framed in the Science and Technology Region, reflected in its last annual balance for 2011 companies and organizations located there have created jobs, an increase of the template 31 percent on average, while its turnover increased by 18 percent.

Thus, the Park is located with 562 quality jobs and a turnover of around 88 million euros.

The Minister for Universities and Research Company, José Ballesta, said that "the fundamental characteristic of all companies that are installed in this infrastructure is the firm commitment to research, development and innovation."

So he said, they made investments in R & D in 2011 "grew by 82 percent over the previous year."

These figures are compounded by the achievement by the Ministry, through the management of the Technology Park of Fuente Alamo and the Institute of Development, aid worth almost 5.3 million euros for localized or associated companies to the Park, directed to finance their projects and infrastructure.

Also stresses the addition of three new companies and organizations to this Technology Park, which now houses a total of 21 companies, among which are companies like Siemens, Indra or Maxam.

The counselor explained that universities in the region of Murcia in the park also have separate buildings "for the development of research projects that generate spin-offs."

This is the Technology Transfer Centre (CTT) at the University of Murcia and the Centre for Development and Technological Innovation (CEDIT) of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena.

"These buildings are installed most advanced research groups at these universities, where they work, which often result in companies that manage their own groups or researchers arising from these teams," said José Ballesta.

The Technology Park is valued by firms because of its strategic location, situated in the geographical center of the Region of Murcia, near the International Airport and the Port of Cartagena and connected by highway to major cities, for the services provided.
