The Minister of Agriculture and Water, Antonio Cerdá, today presented the City of Fuente Alamo or spot clean an eco-park built by the Ministry on municipally owned land, with a budget of 253,587 euros, financed by the Cohesion Fund of the European Union.

This eco-park is composed of a modular set of buildings that sit in an area of 1,600 square meters.

It has control booth, building special household waste, bulky waste area, building of municipal solid waste protected from the weather, classroom environmental education and information, toilets and store maintenance, and interior circulation roads, green areas and parking.

This new infrastructure, and bringing to 40 the number of eco-parks available, contribute to the proper management of waste generated at home home in this county, such as small and large appliances, batteries, motor oils and vegetables, clothing and footwear, paper and cardboard, pruning waste, fluorescent tubes and films, among others.

The Minister stressed the need for the inhabitants of Fuente Alamo will now use this eco-park because, he said, "will avoid the uncontrolled disposal of waste large in our environment and reduce the volume of waste going to landfill and save energy and raw materials through reuse and recycling. "

The manager also highlighted regional specific examples of reuse and recycling of materials, such as the use of vegetable oils for biodiesel production, the use of pruning and wood waste as alternative fuel for biomass boilers or furnaces of brick companies, and disassembly and cleaning of used toner cartridges to come to recharge and extend its service life, "among others.

Cerda also noted the importance of informative work and environmental education that takes place in these facilities, "through a specific classroom in which presentations are made or are courses devoted to promoting the use of municipal parks and recycling of municipal waste in general. "

After the transfer, the municipality of Fuente Alamo is committed to implement the eco-park within three months and to undertake and finance the costs of their upkeep and maintenance.

The Ministry, through the Directorate General of Planning, Evaluation and Environmental Control, eventually made spot checks to verify the proper use and maintenance of this infrastructure.
