Yesterday an Ordinary Plenary session was held at the City Hall of Fuente lamo, in which, among other issues, the approval of the budgets for 2020 was voted again.
Finally, the Fuente lamo Municipal VOX Group has reached agreements with the government team that will be very beneficial for the 2020-2021 accounts and for the operation of the municipality in general.
Two of the most representative points are on the one hand the reduction of political spending by more than 10% from € 302,000 to € 270,000, thus giving an example of austerity in the salary of politicians, and on the other hand allocating € 300,000 in the budget of 2020 and another minimum amount equal in 2021, as coverage for debt amortization during the 2-year grace period.
We remain worried about the bulky debt that we drag of about 16.5 M in a municipality of 16,250 inhabitants, which represents 1.8 M per year in loan repayment that undermine the possibility of making investments.
Other proposals that have come forward are those concerning some works and improvements in infrastructure, such as the arrangement of a road in Las Lomas de La Pinilla, the placement of street lamps in the area of the Felipas also in La Pinilla, the arrangement of the House of Culture and a path behind the school, both in Las Cuevas, or a sidewalk bike path or ride at the exit of Las Palas towards La Venta.
We are aware of the abandonment suffered by the districts in terms of works and services compared to the town of Fuente Alamo itself.
An issue regarding the improvement of transparency and the democratic quality of the City Council has been the increase of ordinary Plenary sessions, which take place every two months to be monthly, in order to exercise greater control over the Municipal Government, and all this without increasing the cost since a maximum of 12 Plenary sessions will be charged, although some Extraordinary must be done during the year.
Regarding the operation with the pediatric mayors, several milestones have been achieved such as eliminating one of them and that two of the smaller districts (Los Almagros and El Escobar) share the same peduary on a rotating basis, or prepare a document with
a series of rules and obligations of the pedneos, and thus leave established that commitment of work on your part.
The final purpose is to elect in a more democratic way the mayan mayors in the next Municipal Elections, in principle with a third ballot box.
Another accepted proposal is about the nefarious law of gender violence, and thus the municipal government is committed to promoting equality between men and women, not promoting "Workshops" that denigrate the integrity of women.
That will be a firm commitment to achieve real and effective equality between both sexes.
On the other hand, the local Government of the City Council of Fuente lamo de Murcia is committed to the transfer of powers (councilors) and recognition as members of the Local Government to the two councilors of Vox from the moment that Citizens have the right to lift that incomprehensible veto.
These powers will be ruled by the mayor and will be consistent with her dedication and experience.
The municipal VOX group in the City of Fuente lamo will continue exercising the Opposition for the time being as before, without ruling out specific agreements and collaboration with the current Government to improve the situation of the Municipality, always emphasizing important issues such as transparency, the reduction of superfluous costs, security, education, and actions aimed at facilitating the arrival of new companies to Fuente lamo.
We can conclude that without being the budgets that we would have made from the VOX municipal group, because we proposed for example that the item for debt amortization be greater, and it was our wish that the deputy mayor would be lowered, even if his salary was symbolically for not charge the same as the mayor, but we are sure that this general agreement that has been reached will be as I said at the beginning very beneficial for our neighbors, and that is why we facilitate the approval of budgets with our abstention.
In the plenary of yesterday Thursday, a motion presented by VOX regarding the Civil Guard was also approved unanimously, on the one hand that publicly recognizes the impeccable work that our civil guard agents develop, and on the other that the Delegation of the Government and the Ministry of the Interior are urged to provide better material resources, as well as to strengthen the facilities of the barracks house that are very old.
The ultimate goal is to get Fuente lamo to be the Main Post of the Civil Guard, as well as the construction of a comprehensive security center that houses both firefighters, civil protection, municipal police and civil guard, but we understand that this project can take years and the other measures requested in this motion are urgent.
