The municipal residence for the elderly and day center "San Agustín" has reopened today six years after its closure.
The act was attended by the president of the Autonomous Community, Fernando López Miras;
the counselor of Family and Equality of Opportunities, Violante Tomás Olivares;
the mayor of the City Council, Antonio Jesús García Conesa;
Councilor for Social Policy, Carmen García Olivo, as well as other members of the municipal corporation and representatives of the main institutions and associations of the municipality.
In total, up to eight private places are available for residence and day center services.
The other 16 remaining places will be arranged with the Murciano Institute of Social Action (IMAS), "a process that is already underway", assured García Conesa.
"Today we can celebrate that our residence for the elderly, which was made with the effort of several generations of public servants and several municipal corporations, is open again and at the service of a group that deserves all our attention: the elderly," he commented. Mayor.
For his part, García Olivo highlighted the effort and dedication of all those involved in the reopening process and thanked his efforts so that "our elderly can live here peacefully with all the help they deserve."
The City Council has carried out the renovation and renovation of the facilities that García Conesa has shown to authorities and guests on a tour of the residence.
Bright rooms, living rooms and a large garden are some of the parts already enjoyed by the inmates since last week.
Its location, in the center of the town near the Health Center, makes this service an important improvement for the residents of the town and nearby municipalities who want to apply for their place there.
